DESIGNING FUTURE DIGITAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES FOR THE BANGSAMORO

This project was commissioned by UNDP Philippines to assist the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG) of the Bangsamoro Peoples of Mindanao in addressing substantial gaps in the provision of services through the implementation digital government. The Localizing e-Governance for Accelerated Provision of Services (LeAPS) Project was designed to harness the transformative power of data, digitalization, and people-centered governance to substantially improve the delivery of local public services for the Bangsamoro people. To fully activate this, the MILG requested the assistance of UNDP in implementing Digital Service Design Labs (DSDL) that would enable civic servants to design digital service transformations within their specific ministries and communities.

As Co-Lead for Design and Delivery, the work involved the development of Training of Trainor (TOT) Learning Materials for both Empathic Design Research and Digital Service Design methodologies. This was then cascaded through the DSDL comprised of 4-day workshops among civic servants in local governments and ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao delivered across several months over the course of 2 years.

The digital service design of over 25 government services and training of close to 100 civic servants in the process and methodologies of Service Design, imbued with the mission of restoring dignity, humanity and efficiency in the delivery of civic services.
